How does PRP for hair restoration work?

PRP treatment uses injections of a concentration of a patient's own platelets. PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production which stimulates hair follicles. It can also be used for facial rejuvenation to thicken and tighten skin, smoothing wrinkles and fine lines.

Speeding up hair restoration with Exosomes.

Always striving to bring our patients the best treatments, we now include a cutting edge new injectable treatment for hair loss - Exosomes. Further improving the hair restoration results of platelet rich plasma (PRP), exosomes are intracellular packets of growth factors isolated from mesenchymal stem cells. These growth factors are the active components of PRP, offering maximum potency and effectiveness. Exosome therapy is performed in tandem with PRP, injecting the scalp. This can speed up the hair restoration process, typically requiring only 1-2 treatments to see a desired result, with results visible in 3-5 weeks.

What is the PRP Treatment like?

PRP is completely natural as it uses the body's own plasma. Here is how the treatment will go:
  • One of our experienced medical staff takes a small sample of your blood and places it in a centrifuge to isolate plasma and platelets from red cells. This protein-rich plasma is what helps stimulate collagen production when infused into the scalp. The red cells are not used in the treatment.
  • While the plasma is being separated and prepared, our team will apply a topical numbing cream to your scalp.
  • We then inject the plasma into the affected area on the scalp to make sure it travels deep into the skin, where its collagen-boosting can take place.
  • Once the treatment is completed, you may feel some superficial discomfort in the treated area, which resolve within the following day.

Is this like the Vampire Facial?

That's right! Kourtney's sister, Kim Kardashian, made the treatment popular in 2013. She used it for facial rejuvenation.

What are the typical results?

As with any natural collagen-boosting treatment, results can take a few weeks to show up. Multiple treatments are needed for optimal results.

How many treatments are needed?

For PRP hair restoration with Exosomes, treatments are recommended once a month for 3 months with a maintenance treatment every 6 months following. This can depend on the body's unique response.

What other treatments are recommended?

Dr. Levine may also recommend Nutrafol hair growth supplements for optimal results.
